Forget purpose, just need a buck or a life-change?

Do you have a business you just need to grow? Have an idea you just need to develop? Have a significant life-change you just want to make?

I can get awfully wrapped up in ‘purpose’ and ‘calling’ and the depths of our heart and significance. But I also realize sometimes you just need to take action and get something done.

There sure are plenty of people making good money with a product or service that, though they don’t loathe it, it doesn’t mean much to them. But at least they have control of their time and are able to have freedoms they couldn’t find in traditional employment. They don’t have the commute. They don’t have to deal with office bureaucracy or crappy bosses, managers or coworkers. They have the ability to increase their income. They don’t have to worry about being laid off. They can care for loved ones. They can work even though they’re disabled. They get to take a day off when they darn well please.

It may not be an ultimate ‘calling’ in and of itself, but it helps support an overall calling. And…it’s theirs.

  • Do you have a business you just want to grow? Now?!
  • Do you have an idea you just know you want to put together and launch?
  • Are you really feeling the pain of traditional employment and a mediocre lifestyle?
  • Do you have a big lifestyle change you are really desiring and want to make happen?

Don’t get caught up in the quest for ultimate purpose…take action and just do something now. You may need to achieve that business growth, launch that idea or make that life-change in order to be free to pursue deeper things. Or you may just want to talk and walk with a real person to help discuss purpose overall!

    Kevin. . .that is exactly what I am doing — my cleaning business is NOT my calling, but I do it because it gives me the freedom to be with my daughter!! and she has finally gotten old enough that I can put her on a back carrier and clean with her for some houses. I know I was loathing my business and so ticked it was growing about a month ago. . .but with my bartering with business I am saving me some good money!!! Also, I keep growing which allows us to pay bills a little easier :) I am home with Sophia MOST of the day. .. . I clean about 5-8 hours a week. . . with that and what we save in daycare costs $1000 a month. .. My husband figured I am making the household nearly $2000 a month. . . not bad, huh?? PLUS it gives me the freedom to work on my true calling — Educating, Empowering and Encouraging women. . . The FAA courses are priceless!!! Another great thing about the FAA community is that we can post questions and get the answers even if we can’t make it to a live class when one is offered. . .it is great!!! As a busy momma — that is priceless!!

      Great, great testimony Wendy. And so wise to look at the value in more than just what you are getting paid with. So many folks don’t to that. They don’t count commute time and cost, daycare… You are an example of doing what it takes. It will continue to pay off. Persever sister.
