You’ve done the cubicle.

You’ve punched the clock.

You’ve commuted.

You’ve put in your time.

And it’s just not for you.

“What does it take to become Self-Employed? To become…Free…from the Daily Grind? An invested Community. Expert Guides. A Step-by-Step Strategy. Hands-On Work. And most important? Personal Feedback. We’ve got it all, right here waiting for you…” ~Agent Kevin Miller

Becoming self-employed, and flourishing, takes an equal mix of business development, AND personal development. There’s only one official school where this is offered. You’re on the doorstep now and we can help.

kevin091

Self-employment is not a destination. It’s a vehicle for freedom and abundance in today’s culture. Working at what you care about, building your own asset instead of someone else’s, and having control over the priorities of your life so you can be true to your values and convictions.

“There are many who know aspects of successful business start up. There are few, very few…who understand the heart and passion of lifestyle freedom through self-employment, like Kevin does. That’s why I’ve had him to Dallas to host two of our Ziglar Success 2.0 shows.” ~Tom Ziglar, CEO of Ziglar, Inc., www.ziglar.com

What is Free Agent Academy?

It’s literally a school, and a community. We exist online, available to you 24/7/365. We have a comprehensive strategy amidst 8 Personal Development Groups and 8 Business Building Courses. Most are self-paced and you have opportunities to join scheduled small coaching groups. We interact daily, but converge once a week for live, participatory classes with myself and rotating Course Professors. The only thing we don’t provide is…your commitment. Though we spend a significant amount of effort to help bolster it. You’ll be placed in an Action Group with 10 other members who meet twice per month to support each other and help with accountability to do the work.

kevin134

“If you’re like me, Psychologically Unemployable then Kevin and Free Agent Academy are for you. I’ve seen Kevin and his team at work and they’re real good at getting people into a healthy position to launch. I’ve seen no other resource on self-employment do what they do at the level they do it. And I’m not saying this cause Kevin exclusively uses my leather bags. Ok, maybe a little.” ~Dave Munson, El Presidente of Saddleback Leather, Co., www.saddlebackleather.com

1) If you want to join a community and change your paradigm on what’s possible for you, 2) if you want to find an idea to generate income on the side (and see what it might grow into!), 3) if you have an idea you want to refine, build and launch, or 4) if you’ve already launched an idea or are already in business and want to grow to greater sustainability and profits, we can help.

What sets Free Agent Academy Apart from other self-employment and business start-up organizations?

#1 is true, personal guidance and feedback. #2, a step-by-step path to follow. There are great resources out there, with great info. But especially with affordable membership sites, they lack actual personal attention. You ‘may’ get a question answered in a monthly Q&A class. And you have a ‘Smorgasbord of Resources’, which means a ton of info and you don’t know where to begin or continue. In Free Agent Academy, you have a chance every week to get your literal questions answered directly from Kevin and the Professors. And you have a consecutive, progressing plan to follow, from initial goals to finding an idea to launching your business. Thus why our listed membership benefits aren’t puffed up to show 100 items, like interviews and downloads and teachings that should be readily available to the general public. We have an active community…to participate in and with. That’s the point.

“Kevin’s more than a mere advocate of self-employment. He’s a sold-out believer who wants to free as many people as possible from the confines of the j-o-b and the grind, and guide them into a life of purpose and inspiration.” ~Dan Miller, author of 48 Days to the Work You Love, No More Mondays and Wisdom Meets Passion. Oh…I’m also Kevin’s proud Father! www.48days.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a one-time fee or monthly fee?

Yes, this is a monthly membership fee for access to Free Agent Academy, similar to a gym membership. You remain a member as long as you like in order to maintain your access.

Is there a long-term commitment?

Well, I really hope so, for your sake and ours! But it’s a committment between us to walk out your free agency, nothing contractual involving your money. We often give 6-month membership options with fun bonuses to small groups of members at a time. Many who experience us know they’ll want to commit here for a good while and take us up on the offer to extent for a period of months, so you can be on the lookout for that.

Are my payment/credit card details secure?

Absolutely. We use 1shoppingcart.com and Authorize.net to secure all our payments and are audited every month for security by the ‘powers that be’ in internet commerce (TrustWave). Never had a breach. And yes, we teach you how to do all this stuff in your own business.

Can I download group and course audios and videos from inside Free Agent Academy?

Yep. We make it so you can work from wherever you are…airplane, hotel, beach (though please don’t work on the beach. If you’re at a beach, just be fully there, eh?!) The point is making it easy for you. As for someone coming in and taking all we have and cancelling, it’s just not a big concern. Our content is exceptional, but the power is the Community and Guidance and getting personal feedback on the WORK you do from the content. People don’t join health clubs to swipe weight lifting equipment, you know?

Will I literally get personal guidance and feedback from Kevin Miller and the Free Agent Academy Professors?

You will…if you do the work and participate! This is a PRIMARY aspect of being in Free Agent Academy. As noted before, though our content is killer, the real power is personal feedback. Which you receive by posting questions and comments for our weekly classes (2 classes per month available for ‘Audit’ membership, and the big WEEKLY class for ‘Agent’ membership). Plus you have access to 24/7 feedback from our stellar members, many who are successful free agents already. And when you want more in-depth one-on-one coaching, we have our rock star Professors on hand.

Will any personal information or ideas I share in Free Agent Academy remain private and safe?

Yes. We have an incredibly loyal and ethical membership and you are safe inside our walls (which is why people must pay to enter!). Regarding ideas however, with all due respect, they’re a dime a dozen. If you want your idea to work, share it with the world. Get feedback. The power is in you bringing the idea to fruition. So you’re far better off NOT keeping everything private. If privacy is a big issue for you, FAA is probably not the place for you.

I love this, but just can't afford it right now. Are there any scholarships?

Do you desperately want to be a part of this inspiring community of Free Agents and Aspiring, but are in pure financial survival mode and feel you can’t afford it (See our promotional $35 Audit Level!)? On one hand, I generally believe we can afford what we truly value. But I also understand hard times. Especially surrounding such things as unemployment or being a single parent. If this is you, go ahead and join for the $7 for 7-days. Once you’re inside the community and are confident you want to be here with us, you may apply for a partial scholarship of 50% off membership. If for some reason we don’t grant it to you (we seldom say no, but…), of course you may cancel before getting charged.

How long will this take me?

Everyone is on their own journey with their own goals, but regardless of where you’r starting, we’re here to help you do it quicker and better. If you have a business and are looking to ramp it up, things can happen fast! If you’re confident and set on an idea and are focused on building and launching, if you put the time in…it’s amazing how quickly things can come together. If you’re starting from ground zero and pretty wide open…well, I’ve seldom seen things really come together in less than a year. But it bodes the question for all, how long is too long? How much is too much? If you laid out your goals and someone said “Guaranteed! But it will take 5 years.” Is that too much? Just something to ponder…

Is Free Agent Academy Accredited?

It’s a valid question at face value, but then…not so much. We’ve been courted multiple times to get accredited by Universities, and at one point we put some effort toward that. Until, I thought more about what ‘accreditation’ is for. Generally the goal is one of two things, 1) To give credits towards a college degree, or 2) To showcase to an employer. Neither of which fits into the purpose of Free Agent Academy. We are an alternative education organization, focused on self-employment. Which surely does not include being employed or needing a degree or any permission. This is about you doing and going after what you want and believe in. YOU…are your own accreditation.

Hi Kevin, do you have regular class times or do they change?

    • http://www.freeagentacademy.com Kevin Miller

Thanks for the question! Regular class times amongst all courses, but they vary course to course. For instance, the live, all-member class I lead every week is on Wednesdays at 5pm MT. Gary Barkalow’s ‘Calling Course’ class is every week on Wed. at 4pm MT. The first Ascent course is ‘Context’ and happens to ALSO be on Wed at 7pm MT. The 2nd course in Ascent is ‘Strengths’ an it’s Tuesdays at 6pm MT. And so forth. But the moment you join you’ll get the complete schedule. All classes are in the late afternoon or evening.

I have started to work through Basecamp and
wanted to let you know that these “classes” are great! I wish
that I would’ve known this stuff before now. I am sharing this
information with my children (ages 16 and 22).
I can attest to the fact that if you don’t have these areas of your life
shored up and in decent shape that you will have a very hard time getting
through the rest of the journey.

    Before
finding FAA, I had never given much thought to what are my core values or my
risk factors. And have them written down
on paper – no way. But these are very
important things to know about myself.
They will help me to make decisions based on what matters to me instead of making decisions based on what I think those around me want me to do.

    Thanks
    Kevin!

The concept of Basecamp is flat-out awesome! As I got started in the first Basecamp course “Priorities”, the first class video alone with Brenda Dunagan totally blew me away. Her style, story and walk in Free Agency really resonated with me since we had the same wiring style and thought pattern when it came to how we approached Free Agency in the beginning stages. She has already given me guidance in how to proceed from where I’m at with real, practical advice and actionable steps. It’s only going up the mountain from here.

We are all in different places, so I’m sure different courses will resonate with certain folks. I was already into health and wellness, so I appreciated the Health and Wellness Course there. The thing here is that all these areas must be addressed for the holistic view and getting ready for the journey in Free Agency. But in trying to prepare alone, I simply would not have really considered them. FAA does! In my opinion, the Calling Course is worth the pricing of tuition alone. I could say the same about Self-Awareness as well since I’ve spent considerable time in both of those.

I can’t say enough about what FAA is doing to prepare me not only for Free Agency, but for my life’s goal, which is to bless and serve others! Thanks Kevin and team!

I have gotten through about half of basecamp so far and will say I am totally impressed with the format and how much thought was put into it. This course fully encompasses everything that we should consider and understand about ourselves before pursuing “free agency”. They are the tools that we must be equipped with before even thinking about setting out for this journey, I know that it would be hard for me to survive without them. I think this course is a much needed and well thought out addition to the program.

Kudos to all of the professors and everyone else involved in creating and evolving FAA! You guys are rockin it!

Going through Base Camp is an asset to EVERYONE who goes through it. It has provided me the tools necessary that I NEEDED to be adequately prepared to launch my passion in life. With my former struggles with the corporate fog, financial issues (still dealing with them), marital conflict (come on now. . .anyone who is married has that), healthy living, etc. . . FAA has encouraged me and been by my side through my journey. Having the Base Camp courses creates for me a clear cut way to help deal with all my issues. . . helping me heal from the past and prepare for the future success.

That is they KEY — dealing with your past and getting through your present to prepare you for the future. . .if all we do is ignore what has happened to us, what we have done (that may not have been the most positive of outcomes) that some may look at as failures — We MUST understand. . . everything that has ever occurred in our lives has been allowed for growth. Be it school of Hard Knox — OR just plain old life. . . It is important for our future success. We MUST forgive ourselves for bad choices, extend grace when thing may not have gone as planned (due to poor planning) and move forward. . .equipping ourselves properly for the journey. . .moving forward in FULL confidence that we are ready. . . BRING ON SUCCESS!!!

Going through Base Camp not only prepares you for the journey, BUT helps get ready for future life. . . NO MEDIOCRITY FOR YOU!!! YOU CAN DO IT!! I DID AND LOVE MY JOURNEY!

This past couple of weeks, I have been flying solo: on vacation with family gone. Because of this, I invested hugh amounts of time to get through BaseCamp, which really is not just a place to go through once. It does me well to check in periodically as it really helps me in, at least, my current course, IDEAS. Basically, I find that BaseCamp, is basic to building and keeping a good foundation (all puns intended too). When I first looked at the course work for each section, I was overwhelmed, but what is learned -and applied here- is necessary to help us keep mind, body, soul, and spirit in sync as we go through FAA. If base camp was not overwhelming then I would start to think I signed up for something that was not substantial to life. I don’t want things to be sugar coated and Base Camp won’t do that. Growth necessitates pain, at least, to some degree. And I want to grow, and from what I have seen here in the FAA community, everyone else wants the same (GO GOD! Yea!) I have found that when I get real about who I am and the struggles I am going through, I open myself to learning more because I am building that connection with others who struggle right along side of me, and am more enabled to receive the collective wisdom for the group.

So, BaseCamp rocks (another intended pun)

    Blessings on the journey!
    Michael

I joined Free Agent Academy (FAA) in May (2012) and have been amazed at the encouragement and support provided by the FAAmily (along with the AWESOME welcome kit!). I’ve been day dreaming for years of something that fits my skills, passion and purpose and with the attention span of a gnat don’t seem to be able to hold on to an idea long enough to follow through. So instead I’ve been hanging in the “safe zone” of corporate life, completely unfulfilled for way too long.
The path laid out by Free Agent Academy starting with Basecamp (which I’m in right now) is purposeful and helpful. The Basecamp work has you take a look at YOU to make sure you are prepared mentally, phyiscally, spirtiually, relationally, and financially for the journey ahead. With the help of the support staff in Basecamp I feel like I am making progress.
My biggest lesson learned so far is – I’m not the only one. I’m not the only one discontent with where I am now and a thousand dreams I wish could come true. I’m not the only one who doesn’t know what I want to do or how to go about doing what ever it turns out to be. But the best thing is, I’m not the only one – there is a great FAAmily of support here at FAA – members who have been right where I am now who are used the tools and relationships found here to become Free Agents. I see it working in their lives and know it will work in my life and it can work in yours too!
I am so glad to be on this journey together!

FAA is an experience like none other….
you need good hiking boots for this journey and you will
be climbing with some amazing people!
Basecamp is a lot like when you prepare for a trip….
you are given inventory questions and then the guides give
you an idea of what you need for the journey but it doesn’t stop there!!
    Basecamp is only the beginning….
you might already have some things that you can throw in your bag for the trip, you might need to go out and find some things or you may need to train a little longer for the journey!!
You will not go it alone….
this is a community full of people that really truly care about your success! They want to see you succeed in all areas of your life!! They dig deep with you, pray with you, share resources and just really prepare you for each step that you will be taking!!

Hi Kevin. If my wife and I go thru together, will we need to pay twice?

    • http://www.freeagentacademy.com Kevin Miller

Reid, great question, and one that was supposed to be answered here. We revised a graphic the other day and our little line about ‘spouse’ seems to have disappeared. It’s back now. When you hit the enroll graphic, you’ll see an option in the order form to add your spouse at half price! We’re huge advocates of couples doing this together. It’s 500% more impacting when you do it together. Eager to welcome you guys in!

Hello, do you have any success stories of successful business launches? I’m reading folks commenting about courses but what did they do after they took the courses? I don’t see any success stories, can you tell me where to find them? Or are there none? Do folks just take the courses and do nothing? Great business model…….

    • http://www.freeagentacademy.com Kevin Miller

Will, thanks for the question. And interesting email address you use… There are some testimonials on this page: http://freeagentacademy.com/member-stories. You’ll find some here as well: http://freeagentacademy.com/category/freeagent-spotlight. Then, many of our professors are past members: http://freeagentacademy.com/professors/ That should give you a good start!

Will – I attempted to email you personally at the address you provided, and it bounced back. I’m happy to answer your questions, and I sure don’t mind hard questions…even publicly. But posting combative comments as you did on the ‘Meet the Professors’ page (which yes, I deleted) leads me to believe you’re not here out of genuine interest and desire. Let me know what your true motive is and we can talk.
